On this World Mission Sunday, we are reminded of our urgent, God-given mission to take the Gospel to the nations and make disciples of the Lord Jesus. While the Church is growing in many parts of the world, it seems to be stagnant here in the West. What is the answer to our disciple-making problem? Maybe it is confidence in God's living and active Word.

When we say that we are a "Life-Affirming Church," what do we mean? While it includes our stance related to abortion, it extends far beyond it, to how we view the person sitting next to us and how we see the world. On this Sanctity of Life Sunday, we will consider Jesus' act of receiving the rite of baptism from John. In His baptism, Jesus declares that the life of every human being is worth serving and saving.
