Paul tells us the love of Christ compels us, so that we no longer live for ourselves but for him who gave his life for us. Jesus begins his ministry in Galilee teaching, proclaiming the good news and healing every affliction. People were drawn to him as he brought true good news into their lives. How can we be heralds like Jesus, bearers of his good news in our day and age?

Jesus always knew exactly what He was aiming at. He was crystal clear on His mission. And because Jesus knew His mission, it informed His movements and His message.
What are we aiming at? What clouds our vision? In this week's Gospel passage (v. 12-17), Jesus gives us the key to knowing, embracing, and fulfilling God's purpose for our lives, and for our church. Knowing the mission, prayerful dependence on God, and Spirit-empowerment leads to the right movements and the right message. Repentance is the key.
